Heh, cycled to school.. Before that, went to TEF to fix my Front de... Yet i discovered more freaking problems!!!!! Chain stretch was about 0.3mm! So there goes the chain... The crank got dented!!!! ARGH~! So it's either the BB's dented or the gear.... argh~!!!!! Would settle it after i come back from the 2 week confinement.... They're less than 3 months old! ='(

Went with odac training today.... They jogged, i cycled -evil grin- got kinda bored for a while, so i stood up and cycle most of the way back... Oh yah, 5th avenue rocks! DAMN STEEP slope! Sadly Wilson at TEF tuned my Front de so that i won't rub, but i have to forgo the 1st gear... So yah! Died once for every second i pedal... I was training to stand and pedal upslope... but almost got a cramp.... GAh!!! I must go back there one day!!!

So i should rest now to repair my muscles.. and enjoy my bed for a few more hours... before i go for a 2 week holiday at a nice resort....

Heh, was reading through Sophie's World till they talked about the solar system and it's orbits. If i still can remember, Newton's law of gravitation states that the gravition force between 2 objects is proportional to the masses of the 2 objects and inversely proportional to the square of the separation between the 2 objects. Hehe....

So back in the old days while i was very young around 4(approximation), didn't attend nusery or what ever shit, flipped the encyclopedia to the solar system.... then i sort of "thought" that the world i'm living in 'IS' in the solar system format... the other "balls" (had no one to ask about the names of the balls" are other countries like Malaysia blah blah.... LOL, saw stuck on that theory for quite a while, till i knew the names of the "balls"... lol

I still remember it till this day lol... So i still like to look at the solar system rather than the world atlus... lol!

Lazy day spent at home... nothing to do.... mostly watching tv... Gah.. 2 more days till i become a property of SAF....

Had a walk to Treknology3 (weird name) Tanglin Branch. A look into the shop has given me one word to say it all - HUGE. There were at least 200 bikes? Mostly Trek, Klein, Gary Fisher. Saw the Trek OCLV 110 frame selling at $2700.... Was actually quite shocked to to see that the Trek Time Trials (TT) bikes was actually arount a quarter of a Trek Madone 5.9 which cost about $7900. O__o Lots of Nike and Trek stuff! Might be getting a jersey from here.... BIG varieties! Saw the Trek yellow jersey with red flames on the side. A +5 poser value! hehe.... A whopping $115 slapped onto the tag! They have the full outfit of the USPS Team jerseys and tights OMG! O_____o But they are kinda expensive since it's in the shopping district... Lots of helmets too! hehe.... Well that's all for the bike shop review. Plus i heard it's opened by the brother of the shop owner of Cheap john here at sembawang! No wonder Cheap John and Trek3 are the only distributors for Trek....

P.S: The 2004 Trek 5200 cost $4500 =( 2003 model (actually they are the same) cost $4450! Grr... I shall wait for the 10speed Ultegra parts to get on the 5200... But the price would be increased again! grr...

Back home! Ahhh.... yet to have a nice decent hot shower before i hit the bed sheets.. Ahhh.... maybe a little surfing! Ahhh....walked from orchard to tanglin mall's Trek3.. Ahhh....big shop! lots of jerseys!!!! Ahhh.... but damn ex =(, cheapest was $65 Ahhh....then from tanglin walked to citilink and suntec.. Ahhh.... stoned there for a while before headed to marina by mrt....Ahhh.... reached there one and a half hours before actual time... had a nap read book...Ahhh.... had dinner at marina.. Ahhh....

hehe... i'll first start crapping about "What is OCLV?"

OCLV or Optimised Compaction, Low Void is the technology used in making carbon frame. Trek used layers of carbon fibre and some epoxy (glue, super STRONG glue) moulded into a frame mould. As i mentioned in a previous crapping session about carbon and its characteristics, layers of carbon aligned properly can give us a very strong but lightframe. In the process of layering of carbon, air might be present in the layers. Ever tired using a adhesive tape on a surface and still find some pretty irritating air bubbles inside? Same logic here. The "air bubble" or void (the term used here) degrades the strength of the overall carbon frame. Well, that explains what "LV" is!

As many bikers know, there are many important places in the frame where high tensile strength is experienced - Bottom Bracket, seatstay( the part under the saddle post), headset part. So the strength of the layers of carbon fibre around these parts are specially optimised for strength. So that's why carbon frames have smooth curves! O_o

Overall, the whole process is time-consuming and very labour intensive as it is handmade by layering a single layer at a time. And the result is a smooth and cool carbon frame. There're 3 grades of OCLV 150, 120 and 110. So the lower the value, the lighter is becomes and the more expensive it is. If you wanna check out OCLV 110, look at USPS Lance Armstrong's 5900 and his latest toy, Madon 5.9 .

I checked out the bike at Cheap John today. Yup, i "outraged the modesty" of the displayed 5200! Hehe... Smooth curves! When i tapped it, it gave out a gentle plastic groan. Sweet~! *sniggers* 5200 Is equipped with the Shimano Ultegra grouppo, the 2nd in line after the Dura Ace. I didn't need the high-end racing equipment. Well maybe in the future if i wanna go into racing or when I have too much money to spare. I would go for the 2 chain setup as SG doesn't have any steep hills that need the 1st chainset. But i think i do know of some, one at bukit timah road. hehe, after i get the bike i have to re-learn the basics of cycling on a road bike. And i would be getting SPDs, road helmet, maybe a Giro Pneumo =P. Then i off riding on the roads!!! Hehe, i even planned out the route. lol... That's what you get when i dream about it.

Ok, the route's set! My house all the way down Thomson Road, ECP, Coastal Road, End of Coastal Road toilet, into the dark pathway and back to coastal and back home. About 60km =) NO STOPPING! hehe, then i start trying out new routes with hills to climb!

hehe, one thing nice about NS is the allowance they give me! First month $540, following months $350. After BMT, it'll get increased till $400 - $500? If you're lucky enough to get into OCS, it's the freaking 1.2k monthly! Out of boredom, i caculated that we earn about $0.70 per hour per month in NS, and that includes sleeping...

went shopping finally... After being stuck at home for 4 days? hehe... Returned my library books, it's rare that i can actually finish all 3 mags and one book in a week. Maybe it's all about cycling so i read them faster? lol....

Just took a nap around 8pm. Actually wanted to wake up in the morning but somehow i couldn't sleep after 9.45pm... grr... so now i maybe up till around 1plus... i want to sleep early!!!!

Cycled and did some pull-ups today.... couldn't even do 10... omg.... gained on fats ont he upper body, lost fats at the thighs....

Gonna do a little game of my own to get back in shape.... gah... i only have one week!!!! darn.... hope i improve a little!

then spend the rest of the day watching anime on pc... checking forums... and most of the time praying for the price of Trek 5200 to drop.....

Now i know why the hell Trek 5200 onwards are so freaking ex...... carbon frame, carbon fork, carbon seatpost, swiss made high quality spokes stronger than DT revolutions.... leather saddles.... sort of how zeph is gonna become, lol... I'll just save in the meantime...

AND OMG... i named it Zeph.... lol

Considering whether to go on with Project Z.E.P.H or just get a full bike..... dun really need high end parts.... Roadie is a whole new different dimension.... Zeph has no budget.... after much thought, it seems a little scary not to have a budget..... so at most 5k budget.. this includes SPD pedals(SINCE the stock bike have no pedals!~!~!~!), shoes, helmet, backlight... gah.... would just forget about the thing and start saving!~!~!~!~!

watching some show on tv about the first lunar landing saying it was a hoax..... hah! guess i wasn't the only one wondering why the american flag was waving in a atmosphere-less moon.....

Back from riding about a 100km to changi and back..... Was a little excited in the beginning cos it's been a long time since i rodde such a lon gone and grayson joined us! =D Ahaha... so that's why i sort of reached TP at one hours before the actual meeting time. shocked to see the condition of gray's bike *_* 'Golden' chain and cassette!!!! wahahha.... cycled as usual to have dinner at ECP hawker centre.... then to changi part after coastal rd.... MJ had a puncture!!!! A 2cm thorn was embled into his rear wheel with the $60 nokian tires!!!!!!! much much time was used in setting up the new tire and playing with the spider web! lol... Punctured at the 49 lampost with the punctured tube tied to the post... ahha... But we went on! Unlike last time, we brought pump and spare tubes!!!!! hehe...

At end of changi coastal, there's a little park.... In the park, there's a pathway that's totally dark... freaky to go in the dark places alone.... gah.... heard too much ghosts stories already~!!!!!! On the way back we swopped bike cos gray's HAVING SOME CRAMPS! lol.... yeah, his highly rusted chain wasting lots of energy... ah, at the jetty things start to get a little FUN!

The wind start getting stronger gradually... i usually the the bike over for it to stand. It was a stable position.... until the wind toppled it! O___o Luckily mj wasn't sleeping there beside it.... otherwise..... i dun wanna imagine..(my bike's like 13.7kg?) freaking strong winds!!!!!! was like 30km/h? lol..... it's definitely strong.... A storm is coming,.... NOrco storm!!!! lol.... joking.... original plan was to rush to macs for coffee..by the time we reached the hawker centre, the rain was quite heavy.... mj and gray slept in the dark hawker centre... me and leon talked for a while then stoned..... rain stopped for a while, we decided to make a dash to macs..... wet and cold.... tights are good! more flexible, more aerodynamic, more sexy! hehe.... but me hate wet tights..... abrasions!!! argh! had loads of coffee and fries at mac then cycled back to TP... on a bridge, i skidded 5m(ask mj)... omg...... lucky for the skidding experiences i had earlier with the previous tires, otherwise i would have hit the poles at the end of the bridge....

cycled and cycle back to balestier via lavendar rd.... then we parted at thomson rd.... me on my way home..... just a few words to described my journey home.... only my left leg was totally wet when i cycled fast over puddles.... I died cycling up hills, and was reborn everytime i go down... reached home at 6.30am... Ss i went to shower before daylight, coming out amazed to see the first rays of the sun... didn't know how long i spent in there..... Hot shower rules! then after that... was bedridden in the bed till now.... haha... actually i should be in bed now... but whatever!

got 2 invitations to go clubbing tonight.... haha... nah... i want me bed for company tonight.... later!

Massive manhunt on Pulau Tekong for 3 armed robbers who fled from Johor

SINGAPORE : More than 400 soldiers and policemen were conducting a massive manhunt on Thursday for three armed robbers on Pulau Tekong.

The three men are suspected of committing an armed robbery in Johor.

Malaysian police told Channel NewsAsia the men are believed to be Indonesians and are armed with a pistol and pump action gun.

Malaysian media say they robbed a businessman in Kota Tinggi of 600 ringgit, before they robbed a Johor boat rental company of 10,000 ringgit.

They were being pursued by Malaysian police but fled the country at about 8.45 am Thursday in a motorised sampan.

They landed on Pulau Tekong, one of Singapore's largest islands, which lies to the north-east.

The manhunt, which began at 9 am, involves 200 soldiers armed with M16s, 200 policemen, a dozen dogs and two helicopters.

The island has also been cordoned off by patrol craft from the Coast Guard.

There are no residents on the island but there are at least two army camps there, which are used for basic military training.

All military training was stopped at 10.30 am and recruits have been ordered to stay indoors. - CNA"

Then on my reutn trip, i didn't see it on the road... relax didn't kill it.... being totally black, the reptilian seemed totally camoflauged on the tarmac.... To me who was travelling at 30km/h, it was road..... gah... luckily it turned fast enough for me to missed it by AN FREAKING INCH. phew... the other one was a small usual lizard... went over its tail.. ah~! tinking about it makes me sick.... but it's still alive.... and running =)

Checked out prices for Rydon at Queensway SC... stunted at the prices... O________o" Rydon - 220, Freeon - 240. They ought to be cheaper though.... then went to chinatown to have my first vegetarian dinner at vegetarian restaurant.... not bad! had my first vegetarian lunch somewhen like 5 years ago? lol.... i had lots of vegetarian breakfast... didn't bother to remember... Shop selling latest cds at 2 or 3 bucks lesser than big cd shops! hehe.... bought Sarah McLachlan cd... =)yet to evaulate it.... back home watching smallville for after missing dun noe how many episodes..... then i'm here typing! =)

Had a small chat with Sunny around 2.50am. It was SO GOOD to hear his voice again! A single tear rolled out when talking to him... Especially after the so-called judgement day. haiz...

It's been 1.5 months since i got the bike. Spent a bomb on it, and i never once regretted it. Clocked 667km with it. Changed tires around 400km... The bike had given me life again.=) The speed, cool gentle wind blowing onto you, the long freehand moments (just learnt to go freehand upslope), the new places i visited, and of course the continuous hard pedalling like there's no tomorrow. All that taught me a higher level of endurance, perserverence and determination... That's all gained from 800bucks spent? It's a lot to me... i'm a more of a 'quality' person than a 'quantity' person. For now, I just wanna keep on riding.... I wanna do a really long one once in a while..... 150km? hmm... but then mj going into trials, leon in freeride....Sadly i'm going into roadie =P So no one left to cycle with ='( ... Does this means the end of the usual 3 rider group? lol...

Bought Five for fighting latest album at hmv today.... Went to orchard road... and no, i did not see anything wobble =D

I need to get away from the pc for a while and finish up the losers by David eddings... i need to sleep early too... then, get the Tamuli! =)

So here they are...... how come you may ask? studying method maybe... but i gotta look at what can i do now.... and don't ask me what's next yet.... there's lots of roads i just discovered.... let me slowly go through them.....

Had a talk with Mr seah about stuff, philo, insurance, future prospects... blah balh... he sort of cheered me up for a while... really gotta thank him. weird i don't ask JC teachers for advice, i asked my sec school teacher =X I won't ask my HT for advice.... he's just insensitive.... whatever....

Ok, went to fix my bike at HL today.... haiz... the auntie there keeps giving me big discounts.. *Wonders if gilbert is pissed with me getting so much discounts from his mom*

Once back home with the repaired wheel, zoomed off to the the usual park connector. The only diff was i was alone... Under the cover of the night.. with the ghost stories i heard at leon's 'chalet'... with a misty road in front of me.. Wouldn't usually be feaked out but due to the ghost stories.. so yah! I was freaky!!! Lucky i stopped halfway to put on my lifesaver!!! my discman!!! So all the time i was blasting music in and out of the connector.... then cycled around the bottlecap trees 8 times for fun , maybe for luck too =) then relaxed.... cycled freehand.... LOL... Never ask me to listen to FF remixed stuff like Vivi's theme and cycle freehand..... I'll start dancing! lol... para para anyone? Why is it that whenever i cycle alone i go to all the creepy places? lol....

then met up with andrew for supper, talked for a while at the basketball court.. then i'm here typing this at home! =)

A's results in 12hours and 21mins..... i'm not worried.... dun noe... sleep!

I knew that i can't sleep if i didn't finish truing the bike... And i did it! At least decent enough to bring it down to cheap john for a proper turning... might be changing the nipples to blue, as isome of them are destroyed by my truing.... =)

Wheelset in mind: Black rims, blue nipple and black spokes. 16 spokes would look cool!

Note to self: Don't true the wheel unless you know how.

Did some truing... and the wheel went of of shape....argh... gonna try again tomorrow.... If it isn't corrected by tomorrow, time to bring it down to LBS and see i wanna true it or get a new wheelset....

Argh!!! my rims are getting more bent!!! Argh!!! No more endos for me..... Wheelies are tiring..... haiz.... Me no freerider...

Going out tomorrow with Mr Seah.... His treat? lol.... Clean the bike chain today... took out the chain.. and i got a smooth ride and a pair of black hands in return.... and my rear rims are bent! argh...... well that's all!

Hmm... Qutie interested in triathlons... BUT i have utterly no stamina in swimming... I'm sort of a groundie.... =( biathlons? maybe.... NS first!

Teri asked me out for night cycling! yeah! i hope zebin can go too, throw in a few girls too! =) then it's a 150km+ round trip of SG? lol, hope so! or slack ride and eat? lol *waits in anticipation*
